Doug Wiley has been assisting clients since 1996 in all aspects of estate, charitable, and tax planning. He helps clients with pre-marital and post-marital agreements, guardianships and conservatorships. In addition, he represents clients with formations of various business entities, such as limited liability companies and limited partnerships, as well as with preparing shareholder and buy/sell agreements in connection with business succession plans. Doug’s practice also focuses on the post death administration process such as contested and uncontested probate matters, estate tax returns, and trust administration.
Doug’s clients include a wide variety of individuals and families, such as successful business owners, entrepreneurs, and professional athletes. He routinely advises fiduciaries, both trust companies and individuals, on their roles as trustees and as personal representatives, and he prepares and files court petitions and trust modifications on behalf of his clients, when appropriate.
Doug spends much of his time assisting high net worth families in structuring creative and advanced estate plans and business succession plans to help them achieve their family and tax planning goals through the use of revocable trusts, irrevocable gifting trusts, insurance trusts, charitable trusts, private foundations, and sales to grantor trusts.
In connection with structuring advanced estate and gifting plans for his clients, Doug incorporates many asset protection strategies to help preserve family assets from creditors and marital dissolutions.
Doug has given lectures on the use of family limited partnerships and advanced estate planning strategies and most recently spoke on the use of these strategies in connection with asset protection planning.
