New Colo. Laws Alter Health Care, Antitrust Enforcement
The Colorado General Assembly passed a series of measures in its latest legislative session that lawyers say could revamp legal lending, patient protections and regulators' antitrust powers.
Among these is a proposal to boost the antitrust enforcement powers of the state's top lawyer, while another seeks to make it easier for patients to sue doctors and hospitals when subjected to intimate exams without providing consent. Another bill could affect how plaintiffs are allowed to borrow money against potential court windfalls.
