Jose advises global corporations, emerging companies, and startups on developing and protecting innovations through strategic patent counseling. His practice includes patent application drafting and prosecution before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), as well as guidance on freedom-to-operate analyses and patent due diligence. Drawing on his engineering background from MIT and The Boeing Company, Jose helps clients develop intellectual property strategies that maximize the value and scope of their patent protection.

His practice focuses on technologies including artificial intelligence and machine learning, blockchain and distributed ledger systems, cryptography, virtual and augmented reality, telecommunications, satellite and aerospace systems and financial technologies. He prepares and prosecutes patent applications across these technologies, helping clients protect innovations at the forefront of emerging technology.

At Polsinelli, Jose leads internal training on USPTO strategies and has served as faculty for different programs including PLI's Patent Prosecution Basic Training Program and the Rocky Mountain IP Institute, where he has shared practical guidance with emerging patent practitioners.
