Josh Pranckun’s experience with innovative medical technologies and devices goes back to his days as an engineering student and continues today as he counsels clients ranging from individual inventors to Fortune 500 companies on intellectual property matters. Josh focuses his practice on developing and managing complex patent portfolios in the medical device space, as well as assisting clients with enforcement and defense of their patent rights. He brings a love of innovation and entrepreneurship to his practice and thoroughly enjoys developing an understanding of a client’s business, technology and the people involved.
While the majority of Josh’s practice focuses on medical technologies, he routinely advises clients in the areas of consumer products of all kinds, green tech, horticulture, heating and cooling systems, veterinary technologies and other types of mechanical technologies. Additionally, Josh advises companies with primarily software-based products and services in the financial services and education industries.
Technologies Josh has recently advised on include:

Clients often rely on Josh to develop and implement “mining” strategies to obtain patent rights on a client’s aging intellectual property for litigation and/or investment purposes. Additionally, Josh’s experience includes conducting patent searches, freedom-to-operate assessments and provide guidance on design-arounds. These projects have led to Josh representing clients in high stakes patent litigation, post-grant challenges and due diligence efforts associated with a financing round or M&A event.
Josh brings experience and dedication to all aspects of patenting. As a patent attorney and a patent owner himself, he appreciates the challenges and rewards of working in the field of intellectual property.
