Justin Peters represents employers in high-stakes employment litigation, wage-and-hour disputes and workplace compliance matters. He defends companies in state and federal courts against claims involving discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, leave-of-absence violations, wage-and-hour compliance, meal and rest-period practices and related representative and class-based claims.
Justin has experience managing litigation from pre-suit investigation through pleadings, discovery, motion practice, mediation, and resolution. He works closely with employers to evaluate liability exposure, develop case strategy, analyze employment records and position matters for efficient and practical outcomes. His litigation practice includes single-plaintiff employment disputes and complex wage-and-hour matters involving payroll records, timekeeping systems, meal-period practices and workplace policies.
Justin also represents employers before administrative agencies, including the U.S. Department of Labor, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the California Civil Rights Department and the California Labor Commissioner’s Office.
In addition to litigation, Justin counsels employers on wage-and-hour compliance, employment agreements, workplace policies, personnel decisions and day-to-day employment issues. He takes a practical, business-focused approach, helping clients identify risks early, resolve workplace concerns when possible and reduce the likelihood of litigation.
