Commercial Litigation Experience:

• Represented a real estate development partner in recovering more than $1 million in misappropriated investment capital.
• Obtained a reversal in favor of a real estate client in the Colorado Court of Appeals, which reversed the lower court’s entry of summary judgment and entered judgment in our clients’ favor regarding a contract interpretation.
• Prevailed in the Colorado Court of Appeals concerning the state’s hospital lien statute and the federal Medicare Secondary Payer Act.
• Prevailed in the Utah Supreme Court affirming health care clients’ current lien collection practices.
• Defended a national health care provider in a challenge to acquisition pursuant to the Hospital Transfer Act before the Denver District Court and the Colorado Court of Appeals.
• Successfully defended a federal law enforcement agent in federal court against alleged Fourth Amendment violations.
• Represented a medical device company in a favorable settlement of a non-compete provision in federal court, protecting the client from potential judgment in the amount of hundreds of thousands of dollars.

Energy Litigation Experience:

• Defended oil and gas spacing applications before the Colorado Oil and Gas Conservation Commission.
• Served on a team that handled land use, easement and boundary disputes and trespass in oil and gas and mineral disputes.

Energy Regulatory Experience:

• Represented national and international oil and gas operators and midstream companies from the startup phase through project completion.
• Assisted companies with regulatory permitting and land use approvals, working with local and state agencies in the process.
• Closely monitored the Colorado Oil and Gas Conservation Commission rulemakings, as well as Colorado’s Senate Bill 19-181, which overhauled Colorado’s regulation of oil and gas development.
