Monica Smith provides strategic legal counsel to clients, including developers, investors, homeowners and businesses. She is adept at negotiating complex contracts, resolving disputes and ensuring compliance with local, state and federal real estate laws. Monica brings a detail-oriented and client-focused approach to each case, working to safeguard clients’ interests and achieve favorable outcomes. She is committed to staying updated on the latest trends and developments in real estate law to offer the most effective legal solutions.
Earlier in her career, Monica worked as a prosecutor for 13 years. During that time, she handled jury trials and thousands of bench trials. She was recognized in the Community Resilience Leadership Archive by UMKC for her commitment to creating and sustaining resilience and collective impact in Kansas City.
She is actively involved in her community as a public speaking coach for the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Kansas City. Additionally, she is an alumna of the Centurions Leadership Program through the Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce. She also holds leadership positions within the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association and is a member of the Association for Women Lawyers of Greater Kansas City.
