Polsinelli Further Deepens Health Care Capabilities with Addition of Daniel Fundakowski in Raleigh

Polsinelli is pleased to announce that Daniel C. Fundakowski has joined the firm’s nationwide Health Care Practice as a shareholder in the Raleigh office. Fundakowski has significant experience advising hospitals and health systems, physician practices and life sciences companies on regulatory and compliance matters, government investigations and transactional strategy.

“Dan brings a sophisticated understanding of the regulatory and enforcement landscape that our clients navigate every day,” said Matthew J. Murer, Chair of Polsinelli’s Health Care Department. “His ability to translate complex regulatory requirements into practical, actionable strategies will be an immediate asset to our clients and further strengthens our nationally recognized health care team.”

Fundakowski counsels clients on key regulatory frameworks, including the Anti-Kickback Statute, Stark Law, False Claims Act, HIPAA and the Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act, as well as state fraud and transparency laws. His work includes compliance program development, training, Corporate Integrity Agreements and advising on value-based care arrangements, provider compensation models and telehealth.

He also represents clients in investigations, audits and government inquiries involving the Department of Justice, Department of Health and Human Services, Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services and Food and Drug Administration, among others. In addition, Fundakowski provides regulatory counsel in mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures and other strategic transactions, advising on risk assessment, compliance considerations and structuring arrangements to align with health care program requirements.

Fundakowski added: “Polsinelli’s national health care platform and multidisciplinary approach across regulatory, transactional and litigation matters made this a compelling opportunity. I’m looking forward to bringing that full range of capabilities to clients who are navigating some of the most complex compliance and enforcement challenges in the industry.”

Fundakowski earned his J.D. and Master of Health Administration from Saint Louis University and his B.A. from Butler University.
