Polsinelli Continues to Bolster National Health Care Capabilities with Michaela Poizner in Nashville
Polsinelli is pleased to announce that Michaela D. Poizner has joined the firm’s Nashville office as a shareholder in its nationally recognized Health Care Practice, further strengthening the firm’s presence in one of the country’s leading health care markets. Poizner advises health care provider organizations on transactional, regulatory and operational matters across the behavioral health, medical and long-term care sectors.
Poizner’s arrival continues Polsinelli’s strategic growth in Nashville and adds depth to the firm’s national health care platform. She joins recently added Health Care M&A Shareholder Matthew S. Miller in Nashville as the firm continues expanding its capabilities for health care providers, investors and other industry participants.

Poizner helps clients buy and sell health care assets, navigate licensure and Medicare enrollment, assess fraud and abuse issues, address privacy and security concerns and develop policies and procedures that support compliant growth. She represents a broad range of provider organizations, including multistate psychiatric hospital systems, outpatient and residential mental health treatment programs, inpatient and outpatient substance use disorder treatment providers, medical-surgical hospitals with psychiatric units, skilled nursing and assisted living providers, organizations serving individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, physician practice organizations and regional health systems.

Poizner is deeply engaged in the health care community, including through Leadership Health Care, a Nashville Health Care Council initiative, where she previously served as Advisory Board chair, and the American Health Law Association, where she previously served as chair of the Fundamentals of Health Law conference and currently serves as Vice Chair of the Behavioral Health Practice Group.
She earned her J.D. from Vanderbilt University Law School, where she served as Senior Articles Editor of the Vanderbilt Law Review, and her B.S. and B.A., cum laude, from Middle Tennessee State University.
