Polsinelli Grows Health Care Presence in Denver with Addition of Shareholder Erin Burns
Polsinelli has welcomed Erin E. Burns to its Denver office as a shareholder in the firm’s nationwide Health Care Practice. A highly skilled health care attorney, Burns brings invaluable insight and strategic counsel to hospices, home health agencies, skilled nursing facilities and other post-acute care providers.
The addition of Burns underscores the continued growth of Polsinelli’s nationally recognized Health Care Practice, which has welcomed six new shareholders over the last 12 months, including the recent arrivals of Richard Rose and Rachel Adams.
"Erin’s arrival adds significant strength to our bench of health care attorneys and enhances our ability to serve providers across the post-acute sector,” said Matthew J. Murer, Chair of Polsinelli’s Health Care Department. “Her deep understanding of the rapidly changing regulatory landscape and solutions-oriented approach will help clients not only remain compliant but also achieve their broader business goals. We’re thrilled to have her on board."
Burns focuses her practice on helping clients navigate the ever-evolving regulatory environment, offering support on a wide range of matters including transactions, contracting, compliance, fraud and abuse analyses, government audits and enrollment. Her deep knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid audits allows her to guide clients through every stage of the process, ranging from eligibility denials to technical allegations.
In addition to her regulatory work, Burns also has substantial experience in health care transactions, particularly mergers and acquisitions. Her strategic approach ensures providers are positioned for long-term success while minimizing risk and maintaining regulatory compliance.
“I’m thrilled to join Polsinelli and contribute to its outstanding health law practice,” Burns said. “The depth of experience and resources here will allow me to better serve post-acute providers across a broad range of regulatory and transactional matters. I look forward to working with this talented team to help clients tackle the challenges and opportunities in the health care space.”
Burns earned her J.D. from the University of Wisconsin Law School and her B.A. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
