Polsinelli Wins Deal of the Year at Los Angeles Business Journal’s 2026 M&A Awards

Polsinelli was awarded Deal of the Year in the $500 Million–$1 Billion category at the Los Angeles Business Journal’s second annual M&A Awards for its representation of Astrana Health in its $708 million acquisition of a significant portion of Prospect Health’s medical system.

Astrana Health’s acquisition of Prospect Health significantly expanded Astrana’s ability to provide access to high-quality, value-based care in communities across the country. The transaction included Prospect’s California-licensed health plan, an acute care hospital, medical groups in multiple states, management services organizations, ACOs and a pharmacy.

Polsinelli advised Astrana on certain transactional and all health care regulatory, privacy and cybersecurity, federal antitrust and related state law matters throughout the acquisition, including, but not limited to submission of the required pre-closing notice to California’s Office of Health Care Affordability (OHCA). The deal involved multiple parties and required coordination across numerous federal and state regulatory notices, reviews and approvals, drawing on attorneys across several Polsinelli offices, departments and practice groups.

The Los Angeles Business Journal’s annual M&A Awards recognize the dealmakers, advisors and corporate teams behind some of the most significant mergers, acquisitions and strategic transactions in Los Angeles.

Paul A. Gomez, Shareholder and Co-Chair of the firm’s Behavioral Health Law Group, and Shareholder Ashley N. Osak led the Polsinelli team involved in this transaction. The broader team included attorneys from across the firm who provided extensive support throughout the deal.
