Tony Nasharr has been a trusted business advisor for over 35 years. As a Corporate, Banking, and Financial Institutions attorney, he has represented bank clients in a broad scope of commercial transactions and operations issues, from commercial lending to regulatory matters. Having grown up in a family business, Tony has a keen sense of family and closely held business dynamics.

As an outside corporate counsel, Tony has attracted clients in a broad range of industries from trucking, waste recycling, consumer products and medical devices to industrial manufacturing and service providers. Tony has seen many clients grow in their respective industries and has been privileged to grow with them by assisting them with the depth and breadth of the legal services provided by Polsinelli attorneys in key legal disciplines and specialties.

In each engagement for his business clients, Tony has the experience of over three decades of past transactions to draw from in order to chart a path forward and bring the right colleagues on board to handle the business clients' varied transactional needs.

Tony has represented both domestic clients in pursuing growth opportunities overseas and foreign-based clients seeking opportunities in the United States. As one of the contact partners for Polsinelli's association with Multilaw, a multinational association of 90 full service business law firms around the world, Tony has developed relationships with lawyers across Europe, Asia-Pacific, North America, and South America. These relationships assist firm clients in their pursuit of business opportunities and objectives in a globalized economy.

  • Counseled a financial institution in hundreds of commercial loan transactions over a 25-year period as it grew from a $4 billion to a $30 billion institution.
  • Provides transaction counsel and day-to-day legal guidance to a privately held trucking company conglomerate.
  • Managed due diligence and negotiations on behalf of Europe based food processing conglomerate in its acquisition of a U.S. based natural sweetener processing company and plant facilities.
  • Represents a number of regional banks in commercial loan documentation matters and a range of operational and regulatory considerations.
  • Provides transaction counsel and day-to-day legal advice to a variety of privately held businesses, including paper recycling, commercial printing, and automotive services.
  • Conducted and coordinated loan workout services for a large regional financial institution that required collateral recovery or debt restructure of more than 60 loans to auto dealers and recreational vehicle dealers throughout the Midwest and Southeast. 
  • Successfully coordinated multiple loan enforcement efforts involving a series of loans to a large commercial construction company and its affiliated industrial development company.
  • Provides US domestic counsel to a range of foreign based companies with US business operations from automotive and industrial parts manufacturing to technology applications and food and beverage processing, as well as import/export endeavors utilizing the full depth of Polsinelli firm level services.
  • Managed the growth and integration of the Chicago office of Polsinelli from 6 lawyers to just over 100 lawyers in an 11-year period from 2006 to 2017, as the firm also grew from 200 to over 700 lawyers in the same time frame. 
  • Maintains leadership and Board level roles in business organizations from Association for Corporate Growth/Chicago Chapter, Global Midwest Alliance and International Trade Club of Chicago.
