Greg Durbin partners with innovators, early-stage companies, and investors to develop intellectual property strategies that advance their business objectives and protect their most valuable technologies. As a former practicing electrical engineer, he combines deep technical knowledge with a practical understanding of business priorities to craft strategies that align clients’ IP with their long-term growth goals.

Greg’s practice involves the full spectrum of IP matters, with a particular focus on patent portfolio development and management — preparing, filing and prosecuting strategic patents, both in the U.S. and internationally. He also regularly advises clients on design-around efforts, due diligence, freedom-to-operate and other patent assessments related to new product launches, mergers and acquisitions and investments. Private equity and venture capital groups often engage him to evaluate IP prior to an investment — and to build the portfolio that follows.

In patent litigation, he works closely with trial teams to develop overall strategy, key technical and legal positions, and assist with claim construction, dispositive motions, expert reports, trial preparations and settlement negotiations.

By combining technical insight, practical judgment and a clear understanding of client goals, Greg helps organizations manage the full lifecycle of their intellectual property and turn innovation into lasting competitive advantage.
