Polsinelli is pleased to welcome Dominic (Nick) Valponi as a shareholder in its Real Estate Finance Practice in the Charleston office. Valponi brings significant experience representing loan servicers and commercial real estate lenders on loan servicing and asset management transactions with a strong emphasis on the commercial mortgage-backed securities (CMBS) industry. His addition comes as clients are increasingly navigating complex servicing matters, including heightened activity in loan modifications, restructurings and special servicing across the commercial real estate finance market.

Duncan III, Chair of Polsinelli’s Financial Services Division and Real Estate Finance Practice. “His ability to navigate complex servicing and workout situations further enhances our bench strength and reinforces our leadership in advising clients in an important and evolving market.”

Valponi advises CMBS loan servicers and commercial real estate lenders on the full spectrum of business and legal issues related to the servicing, workout and enforcement of loans. He regularly works with servicers on the agreements and standards that govern securitized transactions, including pooling and servicing agreements, intercreditor and co-lender arrangements, mezzanine loans, preferred equity structures and REMIC and rating agency matters. When loans become distressed, he also works with loan servicer clients on loan modifications, forbearances, deeds-in-lieu of foreclosure and other negotiated workouts.

Valponi earned his J.D. from Emory University and his B.S., magna cum laude, from the University of South Carolina.
