Polsinelli Implements Leading Legal GenAI Assistant Thomson Reuters CoCounsel Firmwide

Polsinelli is pleased to announce the firmwide implementation of Thomson Reuters CoCounsel, the legal industry’s leading professional-grade, AI assistant. Now deployed across all of Polsinelli’s more than 1,200 attorneys nationwide, the move marks one of the largest CoCounsel rollouts in the legal sector to date.

Recognizing the transformative potential the tool has for the day-to-day legal practice and the profound value it can offer for clients, Polsinelli has provided CoCounsel Core firmwide across the entirety of its transactional, regulatory and litigation practices. With 70% of the firm’s associates and 50% of its shareholders actively using the tool, Polsinelli is leading in terms of active users nationwide.

Additionally, the firm is in the process of finalizing the implementation of CoCounsel Drafting, resulting in a comprehensive suite of GenAI-driven tools available to every attorney and paralegal at the firm. Together, this suite enhances efficiency and client value across nearly 50 practice groups.

Regan Lemke, Chief Practice Strategy Officer and Chief of Staff, commented:

“We conducted in-depth pilots for several GenAI tools as part of our ongoing firmwide innovation efforts to ensure we deliver an enterprise-level programmatic approach to AI that will benefit our clients regardless of the practice they engage with. The CoCounsel suite of products stood out to us as the one delivering the most comprehensive, reliable and practical use case for our attorneys across all our practices. As a full-service firm, this tool is a game changer for our attorneys and clients because we can reliably process and analyze large amounts of documents within it. It is also a platform that we are using to partner with our clients in their innovation journey, reflecting our dedication to innovation and excellence and ensuring that we continue to deliver exceptional value and outcomes for our clients.”

Emily Colbert, SVP of CoCounsel at Thomson Reuters, added:

“Polsinelli’s firmwide adoption of CoCounsel reflects the trust that forward-thinking firms are placing in professional-grade, agentic AI. CoCounsel is designed to reason, analyze and collaborate across legal workflows—always grounded in safety, transparency and accountability. We are thrilled to see the platform empower Polsinelli’s attorneys to work smarter, faster and with even greater confidence.”

Kolin Holladay, Co-Chair of Polsinelli’s Business Department, added:

“What makes CoCounsel so valuable is its integration with Practical Law and other Westlaw offerings. CoCounsel quickly summarizes documents, answers prompts and provides clear source citations to documents and provisions. It is a powerful tool that has already helped us streamline complex tasks and reduce the amount of time spent on low complexity, high-volume workloads. As a transactional attorney, I am personally seeing the benefits for projects that require the review and organization of large amounts of documents, contracts and data. We are able to utilize these resources to help deliver substantial value to our clients.”

Polsinelli's swift adoption of CoCounsel underscores its commitment to technological advancement. CoCounsel joins Polsinelli’s advanced technology stack and innovation initiatives, which include being the first law firm to adopt Salesforce-based deal management platform Project Fortress.

The firm has also recently won multiple awards for its innovation efforts, including Best Legal Innovation at the Southeast Legal Awards, multiple innovation and technology awards from IFLR, and Innovator of the Year in the Individual (Law Firm) category at the 2025 Legalweek Leaders in Tech Law Awards.
