Allison leads clients through the preparation and prosecution of U.S. and international patent applications in the medical device, biomaterials, mechanical, pharmaceutical, nuclear medicine, chemical and biotech disciplines. She also develops non-infringement, invalidity, and freedom-to-operate (FTO) opinions, patentability analysis and due diligence for intellectual property transactions. Allison also has experience with patent litigation support, patent licensing and support for post grant proceedings.

Allison works with a wide range of clients, including medical device companies, pharmaceutical companies, start-ups, universities and global technology developers. Her collaborative approach helps clients align their intellectual property strategies with scientific advancements and business goals. She regularly partners with engineers, clinicians and product development teams on complex technologies such as:

  • Pharmaceuticals

Allison has developed a deep understanding of how to build and protect strong patent portfolios. Her earlier experience as a licensing associate at Washington University’s Office of Technology Management, where she managed university technologies and negotiated licenses across engineering and life sciences, continues to inform her perspective on commercialization and technology transfer.

Allison also volunteers for the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office’s Patent Pro Bono Program.
