As a member of the Capital Markets and Commercial Lending practice group, Elizabeth Blakely Paquet focuses on assisting financial institutions in structuring, documenting and securitizing commercial lending transactions. Specifically, Elizabeth represents servicers, issuers and other market participants in commercial mortgage-backed and CRE CLO securitization transactions. Elizabeth also assists clients in the navigation of various post-securitization issues involving securitized assets, including workout and foreclosure, interim servicing relationships, regulatory compliance and defeasance.

Prior to joining the firm, Elizabeth served as the judicial clerk to the Honorable Novalyn L. Winfield of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of New Jersey. The clerkship allowed Elizabeth to gain substantive experience in sophisticated corporate and commercial matters, including complex and contentious Chapter 11 cases.

Elizabeth’s experience also includes her work as a law clerk to the general counsel of Devils Arena Entertainment LLC. In that capacity, Elizabeth assisted the general counsel and staff in dealing with a variety of legal issues, including matters of intellectual property, labor and employment, workers’ compensation claims, property and zoning, event liability, and vendor contracts and disputes. In addition, Elizabeth supported the legal department in the due diligence process prior to the 2013 sale of the New Jersey Devils.
