  • Negotiated and secured approval of more than a dozen Industrial Revenue Bond abatements for more than 2,698 MW of solar projects and 1,600 MW of data center projects Represent Google in multiple large load tariff proceedings before public utility commissions, addressing cost of service, terms of service, minimum bills, clean transition riders, bring your own capacity riders and more.
  • Represented Beale Infrastructure in structuring ESAs and related agreements for multiple data center projects across the country, guiding Beale through large load tariff reviews, crafting contract terms and negotiating ESAs with local utilities to secure reliable, clean energy for data center loads.
  • Counsel Grain Belt Express on regulatory, development, permitting and litigation matters for the Grain Belt Express HVDC Transmission Line, which spans over 800 miles and four states — from Kansas through Missouri, Illinois and Indiana.
  • Advise Ventas on a transaction to procure renewable energy for its real estate portfolio via a site lease and power PPA structure, including negotiating an agreement with EnergyRM to procure energy efficiency measures and green electricity for its facilities and structuring a site lease arrangement to install energy efficiency measures and solar generation.
  • Represent EDF Renewables in the development and permitting of the 175 MW Tom Sawyer Solar Project in Audrain County, Missouri and as lead counsel for Chapter 100 bond financing for the project — one of the first solar projects to utilize Missouri’s Chapter 100 financing vehicle.
  • Represented CVR Energy’s subsidiaries in negotiating long-term electric service agreements to supply its industrial operations with reliable power at favorable rates, securing power for CVR’s facilities and guaranteeing cost stability following the expiration of a prior contract.
  • Represented Invenergy in securing Chapter 100 industrial revenue bond abatements for the 300 MW Split Rail solar project in Missouri, helping reduce property taxes while preserving county benefits. The team advised Invenergy in obtaining a Chapter 100 tax abatement from Warren County and negotiated a PILOT agreement under which Invenergy will pay the county a flat annual fee. The team also handled bond issuance documents and county commission approvals amid significant community scrutiny.
  • Represent Energy NorthWest in connection with development and financing activities for a new planned SMR nuclear facility in the Pacific Northwest. The team is structuring and negotiating the transaction with Amazon for a nine-figure financing for the development and construction of the current project and additional financing mechanisms for future SMR projects.
  • Represented Doral Renewables in the development and permitting of the Tennyson Creek Solar Energy and BESS Project, in which Polsinelli served as transaction counsel in executing a suite of agreements with Bourbon County. The team also served as litigation counsel in follow-up litigation that resulted in a settlement.
  • Represented U.S. Bank as tax equity investor for the 135 MW Cherry Valley Solar project in Arkansas and the 100 MW Crooked Creek Solar project in Illinois. Polsinelli served as local permitting counsel for the equity capital contribution and performed due diligence on project contracts, real estate agreements and permits.
  • Represented GridLiance Heartland/NextEra in structuring and negotiating documentation for a joint venture with Dairyland Power for a 139 mile, double-circuit 765kV transmission line project in the upper Midwest.
  • Represented Sumitomo in providing a construction loan facility for the 135 MW Crossover Wind Farm in Cross County, Arkansas, serving as project permitting counsel for the financing agreement and conducting due diligence on permits, EPC contracts and power offtake arrangements.
