Harsha Sekar regularly assists private equity sponsors, independent credit funds, family offices and other types of lenders and borrowers in private credit transactions, fund formations and fund financings. Harsha also represents investment banks and issuers in connection with high-yield debt securities issuances.

Harsha works with a wide variety of private credit funds and their managers, such as closed-end funds, business development companies, rated debt feeder funds and multiple bespoke funds that focus on the investment of public assets in debt securities and/or other types of credit obligations. He also routinely represents both sponsor-backed borrowers and alternative credit providers in complex debt facilities across a broad range of industries, with particular background in the cosmetics, personal care and CPG sectors. Since 2020, Harsha has represented the State of Colorado in connection with the formation and capitalization of the State’s CLIMBER Loan Fund, which seeks to deploy $250 million in capital to Colorado small businesses. Harsha currently serves as general counsel to the Centennial State Liquid Investment Pool (CSLIP), one of Colorado’s four local government investment pool trust funds. Clients appreciate Harsha's experience and ability to develop creative fund structures that accomplish each sponsor’s unique goals.

In addition to his private credit practice, Harsha has served as underwriter’s and/or disclosure counsel in over 100 public and private debt securities offerings on behalf of both corporate and governmental issuers. He has testified as an expert witness before both the Colorado General Assembly and the Colorado Senate on topics relating to capital formation for Colorado municipalities and has served as a panelist at national and state conferences of numerous industry organizations.

Harsha supports a number of Denver-area nonprofit organizations and has served on multiple boards. He is a very active private debt investor and angel investor, providing him with valuable, first-hand insight into his clients’ perspectives.
