Ian focuses his practice on tax matters, advising clients on the tax aspects of mergers and acquisitions, business transactions and entity formation and structuring matters.
Drawing on experience with transactional tax matters involving both corporate and partnership structures, including transaction structuring and related tax planning considerations, Ian's background provides a strong foundation for advising clients on the tax aspects of complex business transactions. His broader experience advising clients on corporate matters also provides a practical understanding of business and deal considerations that informs a holistic approach to tax advice.
Prior to joining the firm, Ian advised on the tax aspects of mergers, acquisitions and other transactions at a Big Four accounting firm, where he worked with private equity and strategic clients on transaction-related tax issues.
