Kory Christensen understands the critical importance of intellectual property in the rapidly evolving industries of software, electronics and health care. Whether the client is a start-up or a multinational company, Kory can provide a deep knowledge of their business objectives and technologies. He is frequently involved in due diligence activities prior to an investment and advises venture capital and private equity investors on the value of intellectual property assets. In patent infringement actions, Kory works closely with the trial team in developing winning technical and legal arguments, as well as an overall case strategy designed to minimize costs and maximize return.
Kory serves a diverse group of international companies based in China, Hong Kong, South Korea, Panama, United Kingdom, Sweden, Netherlands and Estonia, which gives him a depth of knowledge on subtle variations between the intellectual property laws of different countries.
Kory’s core patent practice focuses on artificial Intelligence, enterprise software, graphical user interfaces, health care management, medical imaging, medical telepresence, micro-device manufacturing, data protection, cryptography, fintech, telecommunications, virtual and augmented reality, image processing and business analytics.
Kory is extremely interested in the public policy implications of intellectual property rights and has co-authored a book published by Thomson Reuters on current efforts to reform the patent system. He regularly speaks at national and international conferences on patent-related issues, including how to create a winning global patent strategy.
