Polsinelli Advises GTS on Lease with Vanderbilt University in New York City
Polsinelli recently advised the General Theological Seminary (GTS) of the Protestant Episcopal Church in connection with a 99-year lease in New York City to Vanderbilt University.
The New York State Attorney General granted the approval necessary to close on the lease for Vanderbilt’s new campus in the Chelsea district of New York City. The approval marks an important milestone in the agreement between Vanderbilt and GTS, enabling GTS to expand its Master of Divinity program by allowing GTS to close on the long term lease which will result in substantial improvements to the existing buildings located on the historic campus and still allow use of the campus by GTS during certain periods of each year thereby securing its New York City presence.
