Clients depend on Frank Spano to provide legal counsel that is grounded in a solid understanding of their businesses. In order to help clients strategize and resolve their complex litigation and arbitration disputes, Frank draws on knowledge gained during more than 30 years of experience in the fields of law and engineering. At the onset of each matter, Frank endeavors to quickly understand the challenging and often complex issues clients face, as well as the impacts those issues have on their businesses. This allows him to most strategically advocate for clients and help them resolve matters so they can concentrate on the health and growth of their businesses.  

Frank focuses his practice on arbitration, both as counsel and as an arbitrator. From pre-trial motions to full trial representation, he works closely with clients to understand how they will define success at the conclusion of the legal process. He then he crafts strategies to help them achieve it. Additionally, Frank has successfully argued numerous appeals in courts throughout the country.

  • Advised successful claimant in Korean arbitration regarding options for enforcement of arbitration award under the New York Convention. 
  • Advised international manufacturer of power transmission systems in EPC contract dispute. 
  • Obtained dismissal of several lawsuits against international telecommunications companies based on lack of personal jurisdiction. 
  • Obtained dismissal of claims against telecommunications company for theft of trade secrets and unfair competition. 
  • Represented major energy industry claimants in adversary proceedings arising from Enron bankruptcy. 
  • Obtained favorable settlements for energy companies in several matters related to natural gas pipelines, both before and after trial. 
  • Represented international energy company in New York Attorney General investigation of securities disclosures related to hydraulic fracturing. 
  • Represented international oil company in investigation of alleged war crimes and human rights violations in connection with oil exploration in Africa. 
  • Represented large shopping mall operator in securities litigation. 
  • Successfully defended international bank in employment-related FINRA arbitrations. 
  • Represented fashion and luxury goods manufacturers in international arbitration and litigation.
  • Obtained summary judgment for clothing manufacturer in Flammable Fabrics Act case. 
  • Obtained dismissal of TCPA class action brought against manufacturer of jewellery. 
  • Successfully defended major aircraft manufacturers in Multi-District Litigation as well as commercial arbitration.
  • Obtained summary judgment for a manufacturer of fire protection systems in a litigation concerning a major project for the U.S. military. 
  • Achieved dismissal of consumer class actions and individual products liability actions against motor vehicles manufacturers and other companies in the automotive industry.
  • Represented one of the world’s largest computer companies and its affiliates in numerous commercial litigation and arbitration matters. 
  • Defended major health care provider in class action and investigation alleging Medicaid and Medicare fraud. 
  • Successfully defended provider of allografts against claims of improper processing and failure to warn.
  • Obtained dismissal of failure to warn claim against manufacturer of anti-inflammatory drug. 
  • Defended manufacturers of building products in Multi-District Litigation, class action and individual products liability litigation. 
  • Served as coordinating counsel for major manufacturer in consolidated federal and state asbestos litigation in New York.
