Matt’s practice is focused on providing general counsel to emerging growth companies, from their earliest stages and throughout the entirety of their life cycles. Matt’s emphasis on long-term partnerships with clients provides him with a depth of knowledge and understanding about those he works with that enable contextualized and strategic guidance rooted in their near-and long-term individual business objectives. Matt believes that targeted, nuanced advice should find its elegance in simplicity, avoiding over-engineered or overwrought guidance that may cause young businesses to collapse under their own weight.

His practical bearing is complemented by his diverse practice both providing general counsel and managing deal processes and negotiations in the transactional disciplines of corporate finance and mergers and acquisitions, all of which inform creative yet actionable approaches to the complex challenges that arise as businesses evolve, pivot and scale, raise successive rounds of investment capital, and ultimately exit.
