Sylvia Kornegay advocates on behalf of national trade associations and companies before Congress and the Administration and specializes in federal taxation and the marketing of consumer products and prescription drugs. She has spent nearly the past decade critically analyzing political and legislative proposals, educating clients across diverse industries about tax issues and federal policymaking, and developing solutions to address statutory and regulatory client priorities in these areas.
Sylvia also has a strong background in financial services policy and experience with issues affecting community lenders. Prior to joining Polsinelli, she most recently worked in the U.S. House of Representatives for a Member of the House Rules Committee during debate of the Dodd-Frank Act. Sylvia met with key stakeholders and developed legislation in the wake of the Bernie Madoff scandal to reform SIPC (Securities Investor Protection Corporation) that was signed into law. Additionally, she brings to Polsinelli expert knowledge of the budget and appropriations processes.
