Backlash Builds Against $3 Trillion Clean-Energy Push

Local opposition grows when wind and solar projects grow in scale and become closer to populated areas. Alan Anderson, vice chair of Polsinelli's energy practice, represented the firm at a Kansas meeting focused on permits for a meteorological tower and other weather measurement equipment needed for wind projects.  

"It was the first of what became a pretty constant onslaught of challenges to projects," said Mr. Anderson, who attributes the change to the conversation shifting from renewables as an economic boost to political debates and misinformation.
