Arindam Kar is a thought leader whose passion for antitrust law was sparked early on by his professor Herbert Hovenkamp, the most renowned scholar in the field. Arindam’s ability to distill highly complex issues into approachable ideas and advice leads media and clients to reach out to him, and this skill has garnered him the peer-selected Best Lawyers® “Lawyer of the Year” award for Antitrust Law. Arindam thrives at partnering with clients to provide effective antitrust compliance solutions, pragmatic counseling on complex matters and results-driven resolutions to government investigations. He also serves as outside general counsel to several emerging, innovative entities that are delivering solutions that impact industry and national security. Arindam’s legal service is provided alongside his ardent dedication to diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging, in addition to servant leadership and community service.

Arindam engages with clients in the development and implementation of robust antitrust compliance programs. This work includes developing and executing antitrust audits, including the implementation of recommendations in a cost-effective manner to strengthen the client’s compliance and risk management profiles. He also has extensive experience with day-to-day counseling, in addition to advising on complex global mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures and group purchasing organization formations in a diverse range of industries, including but not limited to agribusiness, animal genetics and nutrition, healthcare, manufacturing, pharmaceuticals and retail. Arindam also regularly counsels manufacturing and retail clients on complex pricing issues that involve e-commerce and traditional distribution channels, price discrimination, price gouging and resale price maintenance strategies. He regularly represents clients in merger investigations before the U.S. Federal Trade Commission and the Antitrust Division of the U.S. Department of Justice. In addition, Arindam coordinates and manages multijurisdictional merger filing strategies on deals that have global implications. He also has extensive experience in conducting internal investigations and representing corporations and individuals in federal and state antitrust investigations, and he possesses litigation and trial experience. In addition to serving as Co-Chair of the ABA Antitrust Section's Agriculture and Food Committee, Arindam is a Past Chair of the Missouri Bar Antitrust and Mergers and Acquisitions Committee.

In addition to his antitrust practice, Arindam has managed counseling higher education clients on a number of issues ranging from data privacy, free expression on campus, general legal compliance, immigration and risk management. Arindam also serves as outside general counsel to emerging innovation entities with paradigm-changing missions by providing multidisciplinary legal support critical to their risk management, growth and success.

Arindam is a leader in diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging efforts and is a servant leader in numerous organizations in the community such as the Board of Trustees of Saint Louis University, the second oldest Jesuit higher education institution in America, the incoming Chair of the Mid-America Transplant Governance Board of Directors, the region’s federally designated Organ Procurement Organization, and as the Past Chair of the International Institute Board of Directors, the region’s only refugee resettlement agency. He also regularly handles pro bono immigration matters and helped lead the region's effort in resettling Afghan special immigrant visa holders, humanitarian parolees and refugees after the fall of Kabul in 2021. Previously, Arindam was a founding appointed member of St. Louis City-County Governance Task Force in developing a framework to unify the multiple governments in the region.
