- Served as counsel for a developer of a high-voltage direct-current transmission line in proceedings before the Illinois Commerce Commission and successfully obtained a certificate for public convenience and necessity.
- Counseled client on permitting, siting and enterprise zone expansions for battery storage projects.
- Negotiated a transmission line royalty agreement for a high-voltage direct-current transmission line in Arizona.
- Counseled multiple clients on annexation agreements in energy and heavy manufacturing industries.
- Led due diligence review for the sale of a portfolio consisting of fifteen solar projects in Illinois.
- Led due diligence for the sale of a portfolio consisting of six solar projects in Illinois.
- Served as counsel in seller-side real estate due diligence review for the sale of a utility-scale wind farm in Illinois. Counseled the client on regulatory issues arising from the membership interest purchase agreement.
- Counseled multiple solar developers on regulatory compliance with the Illinois Adjustable Block Program.
- Served as appointed special state’s attorney to a Zoning Board of Appeals and County Board during proceedings arising from applications for text amendments to the County’s WECS Ordinance, including eight nights of contentious ZBA hearings and four nights of deliberations.
- Defended a challenge to a special use permit granted for a wind farm with 200 MW nameplate capacity and succeeded in having the case dismissed.
- Defended a challenge to a building permit granted for a wind farm with 200 MW nameplate capacity in a non-zoned county. Defeated a motion for temporary restraining order that sought to halt issuance of building permits for wind turbines and obtained dismissal of the case with prejudice.
- Defended a challenge to a special use permit granted for a wind farm with a 150 MW nameplate capacity.
- Counseled zoning administrator on the regulation of high voltage transmission lines in the county.
- Counseled zoning administrator on compliance of a solar farm developer with its special use permit.
- Defended challenges to special use permits issued to heavy industrial developers.
- Presented oral argument in the Illinois Supreme Court on behalf of client sued for alleged flooding caused by its development of property and achieved total victory on behalf of client.
