His patent work also includes claim construction, where he has developed and briefed positions, prepared for Markman hearings and argued claim construction issues before a federal judge. In matters involving complex technologies, Clement works with inventors, engineers and technical experts to understand the issues at stake and translate technical concepts into clear legal positions.

Clement has examined and cross-examined witnesses in arbitration and has worked on appeals before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.
