Garrett Jackson is passionate about the health care industry and understanding the numerous complexities and legal issues that can impact health care related businesses. As the first Value Analysis Manager at a large integrated health system, Garrett was responsible for working with executives, physicians, clinicians, and manufacturers to contract for and introduce new products into the system's facilities. Through this experience he was exposed to the varied but important perspectives of each of these stakeholders. He utilizes this front-line experience in negotiating and advising on a variety of healthcare supply chain relationships for clients in many roles including providers, manufacturers, GPOs, and integrated health systems. He also leverages his practical healthcare and management experience in working with health systems on strategies for implementation of a variety of physician alignment and bundled payment models. He regularly advises healthcare clients on:

  • ACO/CIN formation
  • BPCI, CJR, and commercial payor based bundled payment models
  • Purchase contracts and discount/rebate arrangements
  • GPO arrangements
  • EMTALA with a concentration on behavioral health implications
  • HIPAA with a specialty in Security Rule implications

A New “Made in America” Push for Hospitals: CMS Seeks Input on Domestic Sourcing for PPE and Essential Medicines
Key Takeaways CMS is seeking input by March 30 on a proposed framework to promote U.S.-made PPE and essential medicines in Medicare-participating hospitals. The proposal could extend federal-style sourcing requirements to hospital systems outside traditional procurement channels. Hospitals, suppliers and distributors should evaluate current sourcing practices and prepare for enhanced documentation or compliance obligations.
