Joe Oaks represents landowners, developers and business owners in real estate transactions and development projects, with an emphasis on economic development incentives and public-private partnerships. His practice includes negotiating and securing incentives for major real estate developments throughout the Kansas City region.

His practice also encompasses real estate finance land use and zoning, leasing, acquisitions and dispositions across a broad range of asset classes. Joe has negotiated and secured approval of billions of dollars in economic development incentives, including incentives for many of the Kansas City region’s largest economic development projects in Kansas and Missouri.

Joe’s sports-related development experience includes major stadium and sports-related developments and transactions involving National Football League (NFL) and Major League Soccer (MLS) franchises Big 12 Conference institutions and endowment associations. He helped secure legislative authorization and state approvals for a major NFL stadium development incentive package and remains involved in the project’s approved incentive framework.
