- Working on behalf of physicians facing a reduction in payments under the Medicare Sustainable Growth Rate (SGR), successfully advocated to prevent cuts ranging from as low as 5 percent to as has high as 27 percent.
- Arranged a meeting with the appropriate personnel at the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) to explain the problem and to suggest appropriate solutions for a client who was concerned about rules implementing the law (the Physician Payment Sunshine Act requires pharmaceutical companies to report all gifts to physicians and other providers) and issues involving continuing medical education.
- Succeeded in arranging appropriate meetings on Capitol Hill for the Mayor when Kansas City, Mo., sought to retain the Marine Corps data center in the city. Also arranged meetings with the General Services Administration to advocate for an extended lease.
