Stephen Wellard focuses his work on patent drafting and prosecution for life sciences companies. His academic training and research experience have provided him with an extensive background in multiple biological disciplines including molecular biology, biochemistry, cell biology and reproductive biology. Stephen published his graduate research in Cell, EMBO Reports, Journal of Cell Science and Molecular Biology of the Cell.

Stephen is well versed in the areas of patent prosecution, portfolio management and due diligence matters in a wide range of technology areas.

Prior to joining Polsinelli, Stephen spent nearly two years with an international law firm developing his patent drafting and prosecution skills. Earlier in his career, Stephen was a Postdoctoral Fellow at Stanford University.
