Polsinelli Deepens Venture Capital and M&A Bench in Denver with Patrick Diehl

Patrick Diehl has joined Polsinelli’s Denver office as a shareholder in its Venture Capital and Emerging Growth Companies Practice, expanding the firm’s national capabilities for venture-backed technology companies navigating financings, strategic transactions and exits.

“Our venture-backed clients expect one team that can support them from financing through exit,” said Chase Simmons, Chairman and CEO of Polsinelli. “Patrick’s experience across M&A and financings reinforces our ability to serve those companies at critical points in their growth and expands the national reach of our venture capital practice.”

Diehl’s practice spans venture capital and M&A, advising emerging-growth companies, investors and established businesses on transactions across the corporate lifecycle. He guides clients through venture and growth-stage financings, strategic transactions and liquidity events. His industry focus includes software, artificial intelligence, hardware, health care and life sciences.

“Patrick adds important depth to the way we serve venture-backed companies across their lifecycle,” said Rick Jordan, Co-Chair of Polsinelli’s Venture Capital and Emerging Growth Companies Practice. “He combines significant M&A experience with a strong financing practice and longstanding ties to Silicon Valley. As our clients mature, Patrick will help us expand our ability to guide them through sophisticated exits as well as the financings and growth transactions that precede them.”

Diehl joins a growing national Venture Capital and Emerging Growth Companies team that recently added Shareholders Timothy Ayotte in Boston and Brian Willbur in San Francisco. The team continues to expand its support for technology and other high-growth companies from formation and financing through strategic transactions and exits, including its recent representation of longtime client Hugging Face in its definitive agreement to be acquired by NVIDIA for approximately $12.9 billion after advising the company since pre-incorporation and through multiple rounds of venture financing.

Diehl added: “I’m excited to join Polsinelli and collaborate with the firm’s talented, entrepreneurial team. Polsinelli’s national platform and broad capabilities will allow me to deliver value to clients as they pursue growth, financing and strategic opportunities.”

Diehl earned his J.D. from Columbia Law School and his B.A. from the University of Chicago.

Polsinelli’s Venture Capital and Emerging Growth Practice represents investment funds and venture-backed companies across a range of industry verticals, with a special concentration on disruptive technology, biotech, life sciences and consumer.
