Amy Kiefer Hansen focuses her career on assisting clients who are developing raw land or underutilized properties and transforming them into thriving locations. Amy draws upon her experience to provide practical, business-minded approaches to sophisticated legal issues. Her knowledge and experience in working on the front lines of development projects translates into valuable insight for both developer and lender clients. 

Amy works with developers on the creation of governance structures for resorts, transit-oriented and other mixed-use projects, as well as master-planned communities and condominiums. She has a strong background in document and form development for use by developers in the sale of individual residential condominiums and homes to consumers.   Amy has also represented clients regarding license agreements for branded residential projects including both urban and suburban markets. 

Amy routinely represents clients with purchase and sale transactions, including representation of both buyers and sellers of real estate in multiple states in a variety of sectors including office, industrial, healthcare, and retail. Her experience includes representing investors and developers in investment structuring and all matters related to acquisition, financing, and development. 
  • Advised the master developer of a 40-acre mixed-use transit oriented development in Denver, Colorado
  • Represented a resort owner with respect to its real estate development projects in Eagle and Summit Counties, Colorado, which have included a golf course community, two hotel/condominium projects, a luxury branded residence project, a condominiumized parking structure, and six residential condominium projects
  • Represented owners of office and industrial buildings in connection with condominium conversions
  • Represented the master developer of a 5,000 acre Douglas County, Colorado master planned community, including work related to homeowners association documents, sales of finished lots to homebuilders and sales of larger development parcels for commercial and health care developments
  • Represented purchaser of multiple ground-leased pad sites in multiple states, which were part of 1031 exchange
  • Represented purchaser of portfolio of 21 medical office buildings in nine states
  • Advised national owner of medical office building portfolio with regard to leasing activities
  • Represented purchaser of an 11 multifamily property portfolio
  • Represented developer of private non-equity recreation club, including preparation of club bylaws, rules and regulations and amenities lease
  • Represented multiple banks with respect to ongoing CCIOA and development related issues for REO portfolios
  • Advised a client in connection with the development of a downtown Denver city block with two office towers with penthouse condominiums
